Zilda N. Deering 67, died early Sunday morning October 28, 2018 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury. She was born September 19, 1951 in Kingston, Rhode Island the daughter of Harold and Leola (Mitchell) Deering. Zilda worked 27 years at Feed Commodities. She had a love for the outdoors, and a fondness for gardening. She also had a passion for animals, especially horses and dogs. Zilda is survived by her sons Scott Riley (Amy) and Bryan Riley (Stacey), by her grandchildren Grace, Asa, Charotte, and Parker, by her mother Leola (Mitchell) Deering, by her siblings Anna Taylor (Sidney), Merry Duclos (Michael), Betty Lou Gorton (Leo), Betty Lee Hutchins (Robert), Clarence Deering (Karen), David Deering (Debbie) Chesley Deering (Tina), Paul Deering (Brenda), and Polly Rheaume (Michael), and by 21 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Harold E. Deering. There will be a Celebration of Life at her residence on Hemenway Road in Bridport on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at noon.
