Winnefred Macedo, 86, died on Sunday, August 7th, 2016 with her son by her side at the Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury. Winnefred was born on August 14, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey to William Carpenter and Mabel Iles Ferree. She married her husband George D. Macedo on March 10, 1951 at Chapel #2 at Fort Monmouth, NJ. Winnefred was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, shopping and shelling on Florida beaches. She also enjoyed traveling across the United States while married to her husband during his 29 years in the United States Air Force. Some of the locations they were stationed at include Alaska, Texas, Tennessee, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Florida and Minnesota. She is survived by her son, George M. Macedo; daughter-in-law Sharon Macedo, granddaughter, Rhylee Macedo; Aunt Mary Rebello; Aunt Madeline Avilla and niece Janice Magina. Predeceased by her husband, George D. Macedo in September, 2012. A service will be held at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 5PM followed by visitation until 7PM.
