Obituary

William J. Brown 80, died Sunday June 26, 2016 peacefully with his family by his side. He was born September 5, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Harry and Antoinette (Cassino) Brown. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1954-1956. He helped develop the Babe Ruth program in the Bristol School district. During his retirement years he worked as a Substitute Teacher at Mt. Abe High School. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed photography, woodworking, H.O. model trains, the Brooklyn Dodgers and spending time with his family. He is Survived by his wife Mary Pat Brown of Middlebury, his children, Christopher Brown and his significant other Michelle George of Sterling, MA., Elizabeth Brown and Significant other Dan Herriman of Middlebury, Michael Brown and significant other Michelle Godwin of Grand Isle, Denise Cousino and Significant other Bryce Gleason of Bristol, Matthew Brown and wife Kacie of Columbus, OH and Mary Buxton and husband Andrew of Orwell. Also by his grandchildren, Danielle Brown, Matthew Brown, Christine Slusser, Bryan Parks, Jared Hubbell, Levi Hubbell, Garrett Cousino, Tanika Cousino, Shea Cravens, Vada Buxton and Edie Buxton, by his great grandchildren, Shaun Brown and Maxwell Casey. By his brother Harry Brown and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Dorothy and his mother and father-in Law Vera and George Craddock. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 5-7pm at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday June 30, 2016 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Bristol, with the Rev. Yvon Royer as the celebrant. Burial will be in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Randolph, VT on Tuesday July 5, 2016 at 1 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at P.O.
