Bridport, VT Waverly J. Carl Mr. Waverly J. Carl, 68, died Friday afternoon, January 16, 2009 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, surrounded by his family. Born November 18, 1940 on the family farm in Bridport, he was the son of the late Avery E. & Mercedes H. (Roberts) Carl. He was a 1959 graduate of Middlebury High School. He spent his entire life working on the family dairy farm retiring in 1991 due to failing health. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his brother, Winston A Carl & his wife Louise, of Bridport, his sisters, Marlene Shackett, & husband William, of Burlington, Yvonne Many & husband Raymond, of Middlebury, Donna Bushey, & husband Ralph, of New Haven, and Sharon Blackwell, of Tarrytown, NY also by several nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held in the spring at St. Marys Cemetery at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys School at 86 Shannon Street Middlebury VT 05753.
