Orwell, VT Mr. Warren E. Blackmer Warren Earl Blackmer, 94, died Saturday evening December 9, 2006 at Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury. He was born July 9, 1912 in Orwell, the son of the late Carl & Grace (Munger) Blackmer. Warren was a dairy farmer in the Orwell area for many years He work in the Athletic Dept at Middlebury College for several years and was also the onsite manager for the Meadows Elderly Complex in Middlebury. He was a member of the Orwell Congregational Church, a member of the Independence Lodge # 10, F&AM, of Orwell. He was predeceased by his wife Gladys (LaBoard) Blackmer Who he married January 30, 1934 in Orwell.. He is survived by his 3 children, Mary Milos, Allen Devino, and Hilda Roughgarden, all of Springfield, Ma. And also by several nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews and great- great nieces & nephews. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday December 12, 2006 from 6-8 PM at Sanderson Funeral Service, in Middlebury. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday December 13, 2006 at 2 PM in Mount View Cemetery in Orwell, the Rev. John Tetreault pastor of the First Congregational Church of Orwell will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Independence Lodge # 10 F&AM of Orwell at 656 Rt. 73 Orwell, Vt 05760 in care of John Tester. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanderson Funeral Service.
