Shoreham- Wanita J. Fournier, 78, of Inn Rd., died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare, Burlington following a three month illness. Born June 27, 1929 in Middletown Springs, VT, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Doris (Pratt) Stevers. Mrs. Fournier was a homemaker and had also been employed at Hands Cove Cottages in Shoreham and Shou Orchards of Shoreham. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading and solving puzzle books. Family members include her husband, Doris J. "Frenchie" Fournier of Shoreham whom she married May 7, 1951; one daughter, Sandy J. Gauthier and her husband Raymond of Addison a son-in-law, Richard Godfrey; her sister Rosie Kemp of Middlebury; two granddaughters, Andrea Gauthier of Addison and Angela Godfrey of Harrisburg, PA several nieces and nephews. Wanita was predeceased by her daughter Debbie A. Godfrey in 1996, her brother, Ronald Stevers and a sister, Evelyn Johnson. Relatives and friends may call Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Sanderson Funeral Service, 117 S. Main St., Middlebury. Funeral services will be conducted at 10AM with Rev. Justin Baker, pastor, St. Genevieve Church, officiating. Spring burial will take place in St. Genevieve Cemetery, Shoreham.
