Middlebury, VT Theresa A. Kerr Brisson Theresa A. Kerr Brisson 80, died Saturday morning April 2, 2011 with her family by her side. She was born March 27, 1931 in Middlebury the daughter of the late Elmer & Geneva (Gerard) Broughton. She was a graduate of Middlebury high School. Theresa enlisted in the United States Army where she met her husband Truman Kerr. Theresa was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Middlebury. Theresa owned a bakery in Vergennes and after meeting her second husband Sid she moved to Shoreham and began working at Rosies Restaurant in Middlebury. She was famous for her pie baking. Among one of her most famous pies was her own recipe known as Maple Walnut Cream Pie. She competed for the State of VT three times and won all three. This took her to compete nationally for the State of VT. Theresa enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family which was the rock of her life. She would always say to her kids A bushel & a peck and a kiss around the neck. Right back at you Mom, we love you. She is survived by her children, Wayne Kerr & his wife Edna, of East Corinth, VT, Julie Chicoine & Dave Devoid, of Asheville, N.C., Ronnie Kerr & his wife Veronica, of Cornwall, Robert Kerr, of Shoreham, Laurie Hanfield & her husband Donny, of Shoreham, John Kerr & his wife Gail, of Brandon, VT, David Kerr & his wife Melissa, of West Chazy, NY and Stacey Dwire & her husband Israel, of Salisbury. By her three brothers, Henry Broughton & his wife Lucille, of Vergennes, Frank Broughton & his wife MaryAnne, of Cornwall and Tom Broughton & his wife Charlene, of Bridport, by her sixteen grandchildren and her eight great-grandchildren and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband Truman Kerr in 1973 and by her second husband Sidney Brisson in 2002 and also by her sister Elizabeth LaBerge, by her son-in-law Jacques Chicoine and her daughter-in-law Sherry Kerr. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2011 from 6-9 P.M. at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, located at 117 south main street, Middlebury. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 7, 2011 at 11 A.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Middlebury. The Rev. William Beaudin as celebrant. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Project Independence at 112 Exchange Street, Middlebury, VT 05753. Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral home.
