Theda H. Costello, age 90, passed away Wednesday May 31, 2017, at Mountain View Center in Rutland, VT. She was born in Burlington, VT, to Kenneth and Beatrice (Doane) Myrick.
Theda lived in Vermont her entire life. She grew up in Bridport, VT, and resided in East Middlebury since 1955. Theda was a homemaker and a musician. She enjoyed many years of playing piano and organ in bands around Burlington on the weekends. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #27 in Middlebury for over 66 years. Theda was an avid Bingo player, and she always had a kitty at home to devote her love and attention to.
Theda is survived by her son Bruce Costello and his wife Valerie of Salisbury, VT, her brother Duane (Duey) Myrick and wife Gerry of Middlebury, sister Janice Whitman and husband Robert of Middlebury, grandchildren Andrea Costello, Shannon Costello and fianc Justin Edson, Adam Popp and wife Becky, Paul Wildey and wife Lindsay, and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Theda was predeceased by her husband Leo T. Costello and son Michael L. Costello.
There will be visiting hours on Thursday, June 8, from 5-7pm at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 S. Main St., Middlebury, VT. A graveside service will take place the following day, Friday June 9th, at Prospect Cemetery in East Middlebury, VT, Route 116 at 11am. Rev. Jill Robinson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #27 in Middlebury, VT.
Arrangements are being handled by Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home.
