SYLVIA PAT SOUTHWICK MIDDLEBURY- Sylvia Patricia Pat. Southwick, 75, a longtime resident, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Fletcher-Allen Healthcare, Burlington. Born October 21, 1936 in Bridport, she was the daughter of the late Louis S. and Helena (Maheu) Pidgeon. Pat was a graduate of Middlebury High School, class of 1954 and was a day care provider for many years. She was a member of AARP and Little Houses Daycare Providers of Middlebury. She was a member of St. Marys Church. She attended St. Marys School for her early childhood education. Surviving family members include four sons, William E. Southwick, Jr. of Middlebury, David E. Southwick and his wife Trula of Sheldon and their children, Cynthia Tierny, Rebecca Tierny, Coleman Southwick, and Madison Southwick; Matthew B. Southwick of Seattle, WA and his children, Brian Renaldi and Tristan Seemer; and Michael S. Southwick and his wife Cori of Rutland and their child, Kevin Southwick; four daughters, Bonnie L. Beecy and her husband William of Vergennes and their children, William Beecy, Jr., Michael Beecy, Marybeth Beecy, Kathianne Beecy, James Wetmore, and Jennifer Litch; Deborah E. Pfeiffer and Mike of Middlebury and their children, John and Erin Pfeiffer; Patricia C. Atkins and her husband Anthony of Manassas, VA and their children, Autumn Atkins and Garvin Atkins; and Christina M. Dufresne of Barre, and her children, Ashley Dufresne and Jeremy Dufresne; three brothers, Ronald L. Pidgeon of Vergennes, Roger A. Pidgeon of Middlebury, and Richard S. Pidgeon of West Charleston;, 17 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Southwick, Sr. in 1997 and by her brother Robert L. Pidgeon. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11AM Thursday, June 7, 2012 at St. Marys Church with the Rev. William R. Beaudin, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Cornwall. There will be no public calling hours. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Vermont Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 55 Day Lane, Williston, VT 05495 or to the Vermont Chapter of the Alzheimers Association, 300 Cornerstone Drive, Suite 128, Williston, VT 05495. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, Middlebury.
