Obituary

Middlebury, VT Stanislaw B. Pietraho Stanislaw Pietraho 77, died Friday evening August 5, 2011 at Porter Medical Center after a long battle with leukemia (CLL). The son of Bronislaw and Luba Pietraho, he was born on May 8, 1934 in Warsaw, Poland where lived through the horror of World War II and the Warsaw Uprising. Educated as an engineer, he worked at the Gdansk Polytechnic Institute. After immigrating to the United States, Stanislaw and his family eventually settled in Middlebury. He was employed for over thirteen years at C.P.C. of Vermont as a tool and die maker. He was a generous and hard-working man who loved his family and especially his grandchildren. A life-long car enthusiast, he also enjoyed his dogs, fishing and playing guitar. He is survived by his wife, Alicja, of Middlebury, by his daughter Agnes and her husband James, of Columbus, Ohio, and by his son, Thomas and his wife Jennifer, of Brunswick, Maine, as well as family in Poland and Germany. He was predeceased by his parents and brother. The family will hold a private memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Burlington. Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral home.
