Obituary

Simone R. Ouellette, 83, formerly of Middlebury, VT, passed away on Monday October 19, 2020, in Port Orange FL. Born on June 1, 1937 in Marionville Ontario Canada, Simone was the daughter of Louis and Cecile (Quesnel) Rochon. Her family moved to Shoreham, VT when she was 9. Simone went on to graduate from Shoreham High School and shortly thereafter met Charlie, the love of her life. She and Charlie married on April 25, 1959 and made their home together in Middlebury, VT where they raised their four children. Simone worked as the bookkeeper for Grand Union for many years. During that time, she was proud to become a US citizen. Simone loved playing cards with family and friends where her incredible luck always prevailed. Her passion for canning vegetables and baking for those she loved brought her great joy. You couldnt leave Simones home without a jar of her prized zucchini relish. Simone always made room at the table for her cherished family and friends. Simone is survived by her daughters, Carmen Stevers of Brandon, VT, and Susan Ouellette of Chesapeake, VA, her sons, Kevin Ouellette and wife Chris of Middlebury, VT, and Allan Ouellette and wife Robin of Amston CT, her seven grandchildren, Matthew, Samantha, Sam, Amanda, C.J., Jacob, and Aaron, and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Marcel and wife Raymonde Rochon, Hector and wife Anita Rochon, and Denise Lee. She leaves her brothers and sisters in law, Alice Burnet, Sylvia Martin, Edmond Ouellette, Paul Ouellette, Emile Ouellette and Vivian Larocque. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. Simone was predeceased by her parents, by her husband Charles Ouellette on September 19, 1990 and by her granddaughter, Nicole Stevers, by her brothers, Paul Rochon, Rene Rochon, Aurele Rochon and Germain Rochon, and by her brothers and sister in law, George Ouellette, Theresa Mattsson, Maurice Ouellette, Fernand Ouellette and Raymond Ouellette. A service to celebrate Simones life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Halifax Health Hospice. 3800 Windbriar Trail. Port Orange, FL 32129.
