Obituary

SandraLee Ann Berno, 63, died peacefully Tuesday morning, October 20, 2015 after a long illness. Born July 1, 1952 in Montpelier, VT, the daughter of Wendell and Irene (Roux) Berno, Sandi grew up in Waterbury before moving to Cornwall as a teenager. She was a graduate of Middlebury Union High School class of 1971. She was a nanny for many years traveling to California, Hawaii and Arizona before coming back to Vermont. Upon her return to Vermont she worked at Aubuchon Hardware, Peck Glass, and Middlebury College. She was a dedicated caregiver for many years for her parents during their illnesses. She enjoyed caring for and spoiling her nieces and nephews, crafts and spending time with her friend Jan. She is survived by her brothers Lawrence Berno of Salisbury, Vaughn and Marie Berno, David and Dawn Berno and Kevin and Carla Berno all of Cornwall and one sister, Laura Berno of Middlebury. Nieces and nephews; Jason Terk, Sarah Marcelle, Marci Ritchie, Michelle Berno, Casey Terk, Tyler Berno, Robyn Bannister, Brittany Berno, Adam Berno, Joshua Berno and several great nieces and nephews and special friends, Jan and Tim DAvignon. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Paul and a nephew Matthew. A gathering of friends will be held in honor of Sandi from 1pm to 4pm, Saturday October 24th, at the home of Kevin and Carla Berno, 626 Swamp Rd, in Cornwall. At Sandis request, there will be no services. Memorial Contributions can be made to Addison County Home Health and Hospice at PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Janice and Tim DAvignon for their love and support and opening their home to this large, crazy family for Sandis last days. Also, a very special thank you to Kathy Laframboise for help and care over the last few months. From the words of a niece, Thank you for being a beautiful light in our lives. Well catch ya later.
