RUSSELL E. STRONG, SR. ORWELL- Russell E. Strong, Sr, 80, of Needham Hill Rd., died Monday, February 12, 2007 at Haven Health Care, Rutland, VT. Born June 12, 1926 in Shoreham, VT, he was the son of the late Richard F. and Grace (Elithorpe) Strong. He was a graduate of Shoreham School, class of 1944. Following graduation he served in the United States Army Air Corps. Mr. Strong was retired from Polymers Plastic of Middlebury and drove school bus in the town of Orwell and Benson for many years. He was a Boston Red Sox fan and a friend to his cat Willie Family members include his wife, Doris (Kimball) Strong whom he married in 1946 in Holyoke, MA; his children, Judith Litchfield of Jefferson, TX, Barbara Brown of West Rutland, Russell Strong, Jr. of Whittier, CA, Richard Strong of Milton, Kathy Porter of Glenwood Springs, CO, and Cheryl Ryan of Rutland; one sister, Barbara Hall of Enon, OH; nine grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen VanNuil and Doris Gorton; and three brothers, Robert Strong, Theron Strong and Ernest Strong. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted in the June with military honors at Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Randolph Center. Memorial donations may be made to Addison County Home Healthcare, P.O.
