Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away at his home with his wife by his side on July 11, 2020. Ron was born on May 9, 1947 in Middlebury, Vermont to Lawrence and Lucille (Stark) LaFave. On May 27, 1967, he married Viviane Leduc and they raised two children, Lance and Danielle. Ron was a Vietnam veteran and loved his country; his love of country was frequently evident through his sharing views regarding local, state and federal politics. After serving in Vietnam, Ron was employed by Simmonds Precision (later named BF Goodrich) for 32 years. Ron loved spending time with his wife at their cottage on Lake Dunmore; often hosting their children and grandchildren and being captain for hours of tubing, water skiing and fishing. Ron loved to celebrate birthdays and holidays with his family as well as watch his kids and grandkids play school sports. He loved freshly baked goods; especially doughnuts. He enjoyed blues rock music, notably Joe Bonamassa and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was known for his kind and generous nature; always considering others before himself. He is survived by his wife Viviane, their two children and their spouses Catherine (Gagnon) LaFave and Bryan Stein, six grandchildren: Sophie, Elizabeth, Sawyer, Jacqueline, Nick and Mike, his sister Laurie, his brothers Dick and Mark, sisters-in-law Barbara, Diane and Lilliane, brothers-in-law Patrick and Robert and nephews Brian and Eric LaFave. The Family wishes to send a special thank you to Barb Gagnon, Dick and Barbara LaFave, Pat and Laurie (LaFave) Strong, and Roger and Mary Jane Quesnel for their love, support and care allowing Ron to be comfortable and pass with dignity in the manner he wished. We also wish to thank Addison County Home Health for the compassionate assistance they provided.
