Robert E. Hutchins East Middlebury- Robert E. Hutchins 78, passed away Sunday April 27, 2008, surrounded by his family. He was born April 14, 1930 in Rutland, Vermont, the son of Robert H. Hutchins and Marion ( Jones ) Hutchins. Bob married Margaret Duclo on September 24, 1949 in Brandon Vermont. He grew up in Rochester Vermont where he was a member of Masonic Lodge #29 F. & A.M. for over 55 years. He was a truck driver for many years, and also owned his own trucking company. Bob enjoyed music, and was a member of the Champlain Valley Fiddlers. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. Robert is survived by his wife Margaret of 58 years, daughter Joan Forbes and her husband Jeff, Martha Forbes and her husband Barry all of Middlebury, Joyce Sunderland and her husband Larry of Bridport, and Becky Hutchins and her partner Bruce Many of Panton. Seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, Nicole Trombley and family of Hancock, Robert Sunderland and his family, Scott Sunderland and his family, and Jaime Sunderland and her family of Bridport, Adam Forbes and his family, Travis Forbes and his Family and Kayla Aruzza and her husband of Middlebury. Brother Ronald K. Hutchins and sister Hilda J. Tourge and husband of Chestertown, NY. Also sister-in-law Jannette Hutchins of Saratoga, NY, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was predeceased by his parents Robert and Marion Hutchins and his brother Larry Hutchins. The family would like to express a special thanks to Mary Rathbun of Addison County Home Health, Elderly Services, and Judy Hill of Monkton who took exceptional care of Bob in his transition of life. A special thanks to Susie Piper for all of her caring and support through the years. A celebration of his life will take place at the VFW on Exchange street in Middlebury on Wednesday April 30th from 1:00 to 5:00.
