Robert (Bobby) Allen Haight 68, died Tuesday afternoon July 25, 2017 at his mothers home in Charlotte after a brief illness. He was born April 11, 1949 in Burlington the son of Howard A. and Jacqueline (Leggett) Haight. Robert attended grade school at Charlotte Central and graduated from Champlain Union High School in Hinesburg class of 1968. Bobby was a member of the Army National Guard from 1969 to1975 as a Communications sergeant, 1st of the 1/86 field artillery. Bobby attended Community Bible Church in Williston where he was baptized and found the Lord in 1978. He was a member of the North Ferrisburg Fish and Game Club and the American Legion in Vergennes. Bobby worked as a maintenance worker at Week School in Vergennes, also worked as a carpenter at Simmons, then as production worker at Goodrich and retired at UTC Aerospace. Bobby loved hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards, horse shoes, camping, bowling and grilling outside. He was a devoted son, father, brother and grandfather; he loved to make people laugh and was always ready to help anyone who asked him. He loved and lived life to the fullest to the end never lost his sense of humor. Bobby would call his mother every day to be sure she was ok and never failed to do whatever she needed to have done. He is survived by his mother Jacqueline Haight of Charlotte, by his son, Jeremy Haight and wife Kira and two grand children Dillion and Avery, three brothers Wayne Haight and wife Elizabeth of Orange Park, Florida, David Haight and wife Debra of Colchester, Kevin Haight and wife Belinda of New Haven, and sister Mary Baker and husband Burtis of South Barre. He is also survived by his former wife Janet and step children Joseph (Joey) and Robin. A Celebration of his life will be held Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the First Assembly of God Church Christian Center, 1759 Route 7, Ferrisburg Vt. 05456 (802-877-3903) at 3:00 PM and fellowship to follow at the American Legion Hall in Vergennes.
