BRIDPORT- Robert W. Clark,Sr., 57, a longtime resident of Bridport, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Fletcher-Allen Healthcare, Burlington.
Born July 20, 1953 in Middlebury he was the son of the late Burton and Edith (Morrill) Clark. Bobs parents died when he was young and his brother Harold and his wife Rose welcomed him into their family where he became like a brother to their children, Kenny and Anne.
Bob was a graduate of Middlebury Union High School, class of 1973. He was a farmer for several years, hauled milk for Pomainville Trucking for several years and most recently was a groundskeeper and ran the landfill on Saturdays for the town of Bridport.
Bob enjoyed caring for his lawn, hunting, fishing, spending time with his brother and socializing with friends. He enjoyed practical jokes but more than anything he loved his boys and his dogs.
He was a member of Morning Sun Lodge F&AM of Bridport.
Surviving family members include his wife Janet (Sunderland) Clark whom he married February 23, 1974 at Memorial Baptist Church in Middlebury; three sons, Robert W. Clark, Jr. and his fiance Roxanne of Bridport, Dennis J. Clark of Bridport and Brian D. Clark and his wife Ashley of Bridport; two brothers, Roger Clark and his wife Jean of Leicester, and Raymond Clark and his fiance Faye Martin of Salisbury; three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brothers, Harold Clark, Bill Clark, Cecil Clark, and a sister, Anna Bent.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Friday at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury.
The memorial service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday at Bridport Congregational Church with the Rev. Tim Franklin, pastor, officiating.
