Robert Winsor Brooks 84, died Sunday morning October 6, 2013 at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 14, 1929 in Laconia, NH the son of the late Earl and Vera (Stanley) Brooks. Robert was a Graduate of Laconia High School class of 1947. Robert moved to Cornwall in 1971 coming from Laconia, NH. He was a member of the Cornwall Congregational Church, the Middlebury Lions Club. And was a volunteer at Porter Hospital and the Red Cross Blood drive and at the V.F.W. Middlebury Thanksgiving Dinner. Robert received the International Award from the Middlebury Lions Club, Lions International, for his community Volunteer work. He is survived by his companion Loisann Skillings of Middlebury, by his son, Robin J. Brooks and his significant other Susie Clark of Crystal Hill, CA, by his daughter, Rhonda Groleau and husband Robert, of Franklin, NH, by his grandchildren, Ryan Brooks, Jeffrey Groleau, Bryan Groleau, David Groleau and Peter Groleau, by his six great-grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by His wife Joyce (Drouin) Brooks who died January 25, 2006, by his daughter, Roberta Ann Boucher and by his siblings, Richard E. Brooks, Earl Brooks Jr., Emma Lyman, Nina Heald and Mary Saunders. Memorial services will be held on October 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Cornwall Congregational Church with the Rev. Mary Kay officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornwall Congregational Church or to the Addison County Humane Society at 786 Boardman Street, Middlebury, VT 05753.
