Real E. Bergeron Sr. 75, died Saturday evening September 9, 2017 at the Vermont Respite House in Colchester after a long illness. He was born May 2, 1942 in Sherbrooke Canada the son of Leonard and Marie (Potvin) Bergeron. Real was a avid Boston Red Sox and Montreal Canadians fan, he enjoyed playing cards, dancing and bowling. He had been employed by Rutland Plywood and Polymers Plastics retiring due to ill health. Survivors are his children, Real E. Bergeron Jr. and wife Jeanne of Forest Dale, Sherri Alexander and husband Bill of Rutland, by his brother Andre and wife Mary, by his sisters, Claire Phipps and husband Ed, Monique Bedard, Simone Hallock and husband Guy, Nicole Laberge and husband Bill, by his grandchildren, Michael, Jamie, Preston, Brett, Devon and Bradley, by his six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also by his significant other Sondra Hill and his former daughter in-law Lori Slicer and his former wife Emma Bergeron. He was predeceased by his parents and by his son Bernard Bergeron, his daughter Susanne Bergeron and by his sister Denise Bergeron. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 13, 2017 at 11 A.M. at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, located at 117 South Main Street, Middlebury. The Rev. Luke Austin will officiate. Family and friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Case Street Cemetery.
