Raymond A. Buck Danyow Jr. 86, died Sunday April 15, 2012 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington surrounded by his family. He was born July 14, 1925 in Middlebury the son of the late Raymond A. and Marie (Cota) Danyow Sr. Buck was a graduate of Middlebury High School. He married Lucy E Shaw on April 24, 1946. He was a member of St. Marys Church of Middlebury. It was always his dream and goal to operate a construction company and in 1955 he and his late wife, Lucy, opened Champlain Construction Company in Middlebury which he successfully managed until his death. He could still be found in the pit daily, operating the loader. Buck was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending his grandchildrens sporting events. He enjoyed playing checkers and cribbage. Buck is survived by his sons, Larry Danyow of Middlebury and his friend Rita Bilodeau, John Danyow and his life partner Margaret Smith of Middlebury, Jim Danyow and his wife Sonya Sorenson of Panton; grandchildren: Heidi and her husband Bill Cunningham, Lorrie, Joy and her husband Gene Pouliot, Bucky and his girlfriend Kelley Davio, Janet and her partner Brian Litchfield, James and Tiffany; daughter-in-law Carolyn Danyow and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Lucy (Shaw) Danyow who died March 22, 2011. The family gratefully acknowledges the care and support given to Buck in recent years by his caregivers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 19, 2012 at 11 AM at St. Marys Church with the Rev. William R. Beaudin, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main Street, Middlebury.
