R. Bruce Grimm peacefully passed away at Helen Porter Nursing Home on Monday evening August 1, 2016. He was born on July 13, 1937 in Mineola, New York, the son of Robert and Jeanne (Gilmour) Grimm. One of eight children, Bruce is survived by his mother, three brothers and two sisters, and by his wife, three children and grandchildren.
After graduating from Yale, Bruce became a successful sales executive in the paper manufacturing industry. He enjoyed golf, traveling and helping others. After retirement from MidAmerica Packaging Company he and his wife retired to Venice, Florida, where he volunteered at Big Brothers, the Humane Society and Meals on Wheels. Bruces motto was: Dont worry about things you cant control, always have a sense of humor, and dont take yourself too seriously.
In 2010 Bruce and his wife Doris Grimm moved to Middlebury, Vermont to be closer to children and grandchildren. The couple has three children: Karen, of Middlebury, Vermont; Bob, of Raleigh, North Carolina; and Steven, of South Burlington, Vermont. Bruces remaining siblings are Ron, Joan, Barry, Kevin and Roberta.
The family will receive guests at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home in Middlebury, Vermont, August 15th at 10:30 11:30AM. A reception will follow at The Middlebury Inn.

His family would like to thank the staff at The Residence at Otter Creek and Helen Porter Memory Care Unit, as well as his physician Eileen Fuller, for their excellent care and support in Bruces final years of life.
