PRISCILLA HICKS
MIDDLEBURY- Priscilla Hicks, died peacefully in her home on Friday, February 6, 2015. She is survived by husband Robert, son Robert, daughter Patricia Brubaker, son-in-law Steven Brubaker and two granddaughters Kacy and Kristin Brubaker.
Priscilla graduated from Liberty High School, Bethlehem, PA in 1943 and Bethlehem Business College in 1945. After college Priscilla worked at Lehigh Valley Bank and Towles Insurance Co. in Bethlehem. On September 3, 1949, Priscilla married Robert C. Hicks in the Lehigh University Chapel, Bethlehem, PA. Priscilla and Bob celebrated their 65 years of marriage at Roberts 65th class reunion at Lehigh.
Following their move to Middlebury upon Roberts retirement in 1979 Priscillas compassion and affection for children led her to teach part time at East Middleburys Cooperative Preschool for approximately nine years. Avid travelers, Priscilla and Robert spent a great deal of time traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad, visiting over 50 countries. Passionate about music, Priscilla enjoyed playing violin in the Amateur Musicians Orchestra in South Burlington, VT for many years and was very active in the Middlebury Chamber Group for many years.
Priscillas volunteer work included the Ilsley Library, Sheldon Museum and as a reader in Everybody Wins. She was an active and enthusiastic, caring grandmother in the lives of her granddaughters, frequently visiting them in Indiana and later in New Mexico, Atlanta and California.
