Middlebury, VT – Phyllis Zizzo

Phyllis Zizzo, 102, passed away Thursday afternoon August 22, 2024 at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury.

She was born July 27, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Pasquale Montalbano and Josephine (Ardizzone) Montalbano.

Phyllis graduated from high school in New York City.

She had worked for many years as a seamstress in the Garment District in New York City.

Phyllis enjoyed music, dancing, reading and helping others; she loved people, especially children, and was devoted to St.Jude.

Survivors are her son Thomas J. Sinacore and his Companion Marie Garbacz, both of Middlebury and by her nephew Peter Milazzo and his family.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday August 27, 2024 from 4-5 P.M. at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, located at 117 S. Main Street Middlebury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Middlebury, with the Rev. Brandon Schneider as the Celebrant.

She was predeceased by her parents and by both her husbands, Salvatore Sinacore and Peter Zizzo.

Interment will be held on Thursday August 29, 2024 at 1 P.M. in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home.
