Neil Douglas Metcalf age 69 of Addison, died July 24, 2019 unexpectedly at the UVM Medical Center. He was born on October 13, 1949 in Westfield, MA, the son of Frederick Benjamin Metcalf and Doris Elizabeth (Henderson) Metcalf. After graduating High School, Neil enlisted into the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam Era. Plumber by trade, employed by Dundon plumbing and heating of Orwell, and Middlebury College. He was a member of Mount Independence Lodge # 10 F & A.M. of Orwell and also a member of the Cairo Shriners. He was also a member of the Middlebury VFW and the Vergennes American Legion. He enjoyed to Golf, Riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family. Survivors include the love of his life; his wife Terri L. (Payne) Metcalf of Addison Vt. His children Dustan Metcalf, Paul Metcalf of Orwell, and Charlene Dunsmore. Step-Sons Raymond and Jarod Bushey of Middlebury. Mother-in-law Jean V. Payne of Bridport. Also Several grandchildren including Hayden and Adison Metcalf of Orwell. Surviving Brother Kirk (Linda) Metcalf of MA, Sister Jill (Richard) Wenski of MA and Sister-in-law Dorothy Gehring Metcalf of MA. Predeceased by his parents and older brother Craig Metcalf. Services will be held Sunday August 4th 2019 at the Addison Baptist Church at 1:00pm followed by a reception at the Middlebury VFW on exchange Street. Military Burial at the Veterans Cemetery in Randolph VT will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home.
