Maurice V. Desautels, 84, passed away February 28, 2017, at UVMC. He was born May 14, 1932 in Middlebury, VT, the son of Henry and Justine Desautels. Maurice, a Dairy farmer, lived in Middlebury his entire life. He was an active member of the Lions Club, as well as the Knights of Columbus. Maurice is survived by his wife of 63 years, Claire; sons Anthony Desautels (Louise), Andr Desautels (Laurie), and Shawn Desautels (Lucinda); grandchildren Athen Desautels (Tasha Dufrene), Brianna Desautels and fianc Patrick Dempsey, Shannon Francis (Jeremy), Mallory DeCoff (Matt), Dana, and Raphael Desautels; great grandchildren Soleia Desautels, Rosalie, and Isabella Francis. He was predeceased by his brother Emile Desautels and infant granddaughter Amber. A celebration of Maurice's life will take place at the VFW in Middlebury on Sunday, March 12th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 114 Perimeter Road, Nashua, NH 03063.
