MARY BEHRE
ROCHESTER- Mary F. Behre, 87, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Middlebury, following a long struggle with vascular dementia.
Born November 28, 1925 in Worcester, MA. she was the daughter of the late Ernest P. and Emma J. ( Lamoine ) Brigham.
Mary graduated from Worchester High School , and earned her Bachelor of Art at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston(where she met her first husband Joseph Bolger) and her Masters in Art Therapy from Lesley College, Boston, MA. Mary taught art for many years at Danvers Junior High School, Danvers, MA.
Mary was a water color artist, and she saw the world in colors, patterns, and shapes. She loved architecture and nature. She learned to ride a motorcycle in her fifties with her second husband Arnold. After moving to Florida in retirement, she learned to invest in the stock market,
and was president of her own investment club called the Gold Diggers in Kissimmee, FL.
Surviving family members include a sister, Irene Pojani and husband Christie in Davenport, FL, daughters, Anne E. Thrailkill and her husband William of Rochester and Catherine S. Flye of Seattle, WA; one son, Timothy R. Bolger of Springhill, FL; three grandchildren, David Grey of Carlsbad, CA, Sean McDonald and Stephanie Monahan of Marblehead, MA and a great granddaughter, Madison Monahan.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, C. Arnold Behre, by a sister Bernice Brigham and a brother, Ernest Brigham.
No services are planned. Marys children are planning a private memorial this summer.
