Marion Palmer Lucia, 83, of Middlebury died unexpectedly in Helen Porter
Nursing Home on January 5, 2006. She was the daughter of Roy W. and Carrie Hunt Palmer.
She was born on April 4, 1922.
Marion married Francis Lucia on April 10, 1940.
Marion held many positions
in her life including working at Palmers Dairy, her brothers business, at Schoolhouse Woolens, and as a local news correspondent for the Burlington Free Press.
Marion was a former member of the East Middlebury United Methodist Church, the Methodist Womens Club, Homemakers Home Demonstration Club, Good Cheer
Circle Kings Daughters, and the DAR. She also taught Sunday School for many years.
Marion recently joined the Middlebury Congregational Church.
Marion enjoyed sewing for her family, capturing family memories through photography, collecting old books, flower gardening, and playing cards.
Marions happiest moments were family gatherings. She will be remembered for her delicious meals and warm hospitality. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
Marion is survived by her three children, Timothy Lucia of Mantano, Ill.,
Melanie Dickinson of Hyde Park, Vt., and Priscilla Bowen of Middlebury, Vt.,
her 7 grandchildren, and her 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by
her sister, Margaret Payne Robins, her brother, Harold Palmer, and her
sister, Elizabeth Austin. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis
Lucia, her brother, William Palmer, and her sister, Katharine Palmer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the
Middlebury Congregational Church.

Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 504, Middlebury, Vt.
05753. Funeral arrangements are made by Sanderson Funeral Service of
Middlebury.
