LUCILE TIERNEY
MIDDLEBURY - Lucile Tierney passed away on November 16, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.
Lucile was born August 17, 1921 the daughter of Noah and Leah (Highter) Duclos in Lincoln, Vermont.
She attended Bristol High School and graduated in 1939. She married Milan Tierney on September 15th, 1941 at St. Ambrose Church in Bristol, Vermont. They resided in Bristol, CT until 1952 when they moved to Bristol, Vermont.
Lucile worked at the New England Telephone Office as a telephone operator in the 1950s. She then worked at VanRaalte for many years.
Lucile loved to knit and crochet and made many beautiful items to share with her family and friends. She made amazing desserts and homemade candies. She was known for her delicious Pecan Rolls that she shared with family and friends at Christmas each year. Her annual Christmas Eve party with all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was always the highlight of the holiday for her.
Lucile leaves her children, Marielana & Marty Thompson, Michael & Kathy Tierney, Pam & Brian Ladeau. She leaves 8 grandchildren, Stephanie Larsen, Brett Thompson, Kyle Thompson, Christopher Thompson, Michael Todd Tierney, Mark Tierney, Carmen Jochum and Brian Ladeau. Nana leaves 14 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She leave a sister, Delphine Palmore of Bellows Falls, VT and a brother, Laurence Duclos of Avon, CT. She leaves a precious friend of almost 60 years, Lucile Skeffington of Bristol, VT, sister-in-laws, Donna Barnum and Patricia Tierney of Bristol, VT., several nieces and nephews.
Lucile was cared for by an amazing group of people at Helen Porter Nursing Home for four years. All the special Angels who cared for her on Otter Creek Place all became her second family and we will hold you in our hearts forever. You will have a new angel watching over you by the name of Lucile.
She was predeceased by her husband Milan in 1978, her parents Noah & Leah Duclos, her brother Philip Duclos and her sister Winifred Dwire.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Palliative Care, 15 Porter Drive, Middlebury, VT 05753.
In keeping with Luciles wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral. There will be a graveside service at the convenience of the family.
