EAST MIDDLEBURY- Lola M. Lorent, 79, of East Main St., died Monday, August 18, 2008 at Helen Porter Healthcare, Middlebury. Born in Brooklyn, NY February 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Lilly I. (Lloyd) Newhouse. Lola was a graduate of James Madison High School, Brooklyn and was employed as a secretary prior to her marriage. She married Eugene J. Lorent June 16, 1951 at the Church of the Advent, Bloomfield, NJ. . She was a longtime resident of Bloomfield, NJ prior to moving here in 1992. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, and reading. Family members include her husband Eugene J. Lorent of East Middlebury, one daughter Claire A. Thomas and her husband Mark W. Thomas of East Middlebury, one son, Drew S. Lorent of Columbia, NJ; three grandsons, Reid W. Thomas and his wife Victoria of Brookline, NH, Craig R. Thomas of Lowell, MA and Brent M. Thomas of East Middlebury; and a soon expected great grandchild. Calling hours will be held from 7-9 PM Thursday August 21, 2008 at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 AM Friday at East Middlebury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jill Robinson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be Saturday at Ballston Spa Cemetery, Ballston Spa, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance Association, P.O.
