Middlebury, VT Leo N. Lessor
Mr. Leo N. Lessor, 91, of Middlebury passed away December 11, 2006 after a brief illness.
He was born September 4, 1915 in Charlotte, VT the son of the late William J. & Carrie (Dubie) Lessor, he was raised in Shelburne.
Leo enlisted in the United States Army in February of 1941 through August of 1945, having served in the European Theatre from North Africa into Germany.
After the service he married the late Elizabeth (Bullock) Lessor in 1947 who predeceased him on April 3, 1995.
Leo worked many years as a carpenter for local businesses, after some retirement, he started working at Middlebury Union High School in the Janitorial Dept. His last employment was with St. Marys Parish as janitor until his full retirement.
He is survived by his son, Leo Francis Lessor, and his special friend Sherry Jackson, of Middlebury, his five daughters, Margaret Marr & her husband Frank, of Keystone Heights, FL, Dolores (Alcide) Gingras and Susanne (Thomas) Barrows, both of Cornwall, Karen Layton & her husband Jim, of Dalevile, Al, and Deborah Lessor who was his care giver and whom he had made his home. Also by his 11 grandchildren, his 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces & nephews and many other family members.
He was predeceased by his wife, by his brothers, James, Philip, Francis, and George Lessor, also by his sisters, Mary and Alice Lessor, Grace Grimes, Margaret Naiden, Pauline Therrien, and Theresa Gauthier.
Leos long journey is now coming to an end and memories are all that will linger.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 15, 2006 from 6-8 PM at Sanderson Funeral Service, 117 South Man St. Middlebury.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday December 16, 2006 at 11 AM at St. Marys Catholic Church in Middlebury with the Rev. Justin Baker as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Addison County Home Health Care and Hospice, P.O. Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753.
