Laura H. Burritt died peacefully at her daughter Nancys home in Bristol on November 12, 2013 surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice.
Laura was born on March 1, 1923 in Monkton, VT, the daughter of the late Hervey and Olive (Brown) Hanson. She was a graduate of Bristol High School. She married the late George F. Burritt in 1944. She was a homemaker and raised six children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bristol and the Treasure Seekers womens group. She enjoyed knitting, hiking, walking and spending time doing family oriented activities.
She is survived by her son; George Larry Burritt and his wife Judy of Stuarts Draft, VA. She is survived by five daughters; Judy A. Hopkins and her husband Phillip of Bristol, Nancy Skidmore and her husband Jim of Bristol, Susan Gingras and her husband Paul of Weybridge, Kathy Burritt and her partner Jim Cunningham of Bristol and Rebecca Burritt and her partner Ronald Munson of Bristol. She is survived by her sisters; Betty Norris of Monkton, Lois Burbank and her husband Rev. John Burbank of Bristol, Flora Norris of Bristol and her brothers and sisters-in-law Barbara Hanson of Bristol, Roger Layn, Hope Burritt, Roderick and Carmie Burritt, all of Monkton. She is survived by eleven grandchildren,twelve great and one great-greatgrandchildren.
She was predeceased by her Husband George F. Burritt, her brothers; Edwin Hanson, Clifford Hanson and Winfred Peanut Hanson and her sister Ada Pierce.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday November 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Bristol at 11 A.M. with Rev. David Wood officiating. There will time of fellowship following the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home.
