Orwell, VT Laura Rose Barry
Laura Rose Barry (affectionately known as Larry) died peacefully on Friday March 31, 2006 at the home of her daughter, Rae Anne, in Orwell, following an extended illness.
She was born July 7, 1910 in Queens, N.Y. the daughter of Ella Rose and Albert Zeaman. She graduated from St. Johns University in New York, with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education and taught for many years in New York City school system.
Laura was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Edward Charles Barry, who died in September, 2000.
Survivors include her four children, Edna DOliva of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, Laurette Whittle, of Hoboken, NJ, Dr. Patrick Barry and his wife Kathleen, of Port Jefferson, NY, and Dr. Rae Anne Barry, of Orwell, VT, her niece, Susan Georges, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, her nephew, John Zeaman, of Leonia, NJ, grandchildren, Catherine Borico, Michael Whittle, Maureen Kersey, Margaret Toth and Patrick Barry, her eight great-grandchildren, and six great nieces and nephews, Larry is also survived by her very special friends of many years- Sharon Thompson, Lorraine and Curly Audet and family, and Kaye and Jack Duffy, all of Orwell.
There will be no visiting hours or funeral mass. Family and friends may attend Palm Sunday Mass on April 9, 2006 at 11 AM at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Orwell. A reception will follow at the Barry-Thompson residence from 12:30 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lauras memory to the Orwell Free Library, Orwell, VT 05760.
