WEYBRIDGEKenneth John Perkins of Weybridge died Friday, October 1, 2010 in the home he grew up in, surrounded by his family. He has now joined his wife, Marguerite, and is resting in peace. Kenneth was born to Robert B. and Jennie J. (Ploof) Perkins on October 6, 1919 in Cornwall, Vermont. Ken was raised in Weybridge and as a young boy worked on various farms in Addison County. He served in the US Army in World War II in the South Pacific. He met his wife, Marguerite, at a local dance and they were united in marriage on September 21, 1946 and later settled in Weybridge. Ken was a farmer for many years. He then and then started working as a machinist at Polymers Plastic Shop and retired in 1984 after more than 20 years of service. Ken cherished his family and his home. His favorite past-times were cutting wood, working in his garden, and helping his family and neighbors. Kenneth was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Marguerite, in December of 1999. He leaves behind their three sons: John and his wife, Beki of Weybridge; Jim and his wife, Bonnie of Deltona, FL; Gary and his wife, Susan of Weybridge; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ken was also predeceased by his two brothers and five sisters. The family would like to convey their heart-felt gratitude to the staff at Lemon Fair Lane at Helen Porter Healthcare.
