Joan M. Malloy, 67, of East Middlebury died on Saturday October 5, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Addison County Home Health and Hospice. Joan was born on September 9, 1946 in Middlebury, VT the daughter of the late Willard and Lucielle (Warner) Burns. She was a graduate of Middlebury Union High School, the class of 1966. On August 1, 1987 she married William Malloy at their home in East Middlebury. She was an avid reader; she enjoyed arts and crafts, her wild flower garden and watching the birds at her bird feeders. She was also an animal lover. She is survived by her husband William Malloy Sr., her daughter; Lori Barrows and her partner Howard Sallerson of Middlebury. She is survived by two step sons; William Malloy Jr. and his wife Tina of Sudbury, VT and Peter Malloy and his wife Tammy of Leicester, VT. She is survived by six grandchildren as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother John Berger. A visitation will be held on Tuesday October 8th, 2013 from 4-7 P.M. at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday October 9, 2013 at 10 A.M. at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in North Ferrisburgh Cemetery.
