Our beautiful mom, wife, and friend Jeanne passed away on a beautiful moonlit evening at home, with her loving family at her side. Her journey to reach the light took some time, but when she did cross, the stars were there to carry her to meet her loved ones waiting for her on the other side.
Jeanne was born March 5, 1928 in Plymouth, New York to Wayne and Caroline Dunham. Her favorite memories include playing with her sister Maxine and the many other cousins, playing on her Grandpas farm, riding the big horses, playing in the chicken houses and sliding down the long slopes in winter.
In 1952 she married our Dad, Willard "Buster" Hackett and they began a journey together, that brought them to Cape Cod for many years and then finally to Vermont, where they have spent the last 30 years living down on the lake at their beloved Owls Head Harbor. This was where Jeanne learned her true skills of organizing parties and fishing expeditions and searching out the best tag sales around! Jeanne loved to be surrounded by her friends and family on a warm summers evening, with no plate or cup left empty.
Jeanne was pre-deceased by her beautiful daughter Linda in 1952 and her beautiful son Timothy in 1963. She was also pre-deceased by her darling sister Maxine.
Jeanne is survived by her beloved husband Willard Hackett of New Haven, VT, her daughter Carol Rudinski and husband Richard also of New Haven, VT, her daughter Daphne Hackett of Essex, VT and her partner Randy Patnod, her daughter Susan Prock and husband Walter from Abilene, TX. Jeanne has a special love for her granddaughters Hannah and Aliza and most recently reconnected with her older granddaughters Michele and Jenny and her two great-grandsons Christopher and Ryan. Her granddaughter Lynn and great-grandaughter Samantha live on Cape Cod.
We would like to invite all who knew Jeannie to come and celebrate her life Monday, July 3rd in Middlebury VT at Sanderson Funeral Home from 1 - 4 pm at 117 South Main Street, Middlebury, VT.
