Bridport, VT Mrs. Janet Swinton
Mrs. Janet Swinton, 100 died Friday evening September 29, 2006 at her residence in bridport.
She was born January 29, 1906 in Greenville, New Hampshire the daughter of the late Berkley and Marian (Roger) Larrabee. Janet was raised in Ayer, Ma.
Janet came to Middlebury, VT for teachers training and taught at Bridport Lake School, Janet met her husband Leon here and they were married on October 12, 1929, Leon predeceased her in May of 1983. Janet retired from teaching in 1968.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Swinton, of Burlington, Audrey Keyes & her husband Bill, of Bridport, Mary James & her husband Ed, of Shoreham, Peggy Clark & her husband Larry, of Cornwall, Cindy Belanger & her husband Fred, of Monkton and Louise Richmond & her husband David, of Essex junction, VT also by her grandchildren, Betty, Becky, Kenneth, Gerald, Nancy, Joe, Lynn, Ed, Katie, Galandrielle, Leslie and LuCinda, also by her 11 great-grandchildren, her 2 great-great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Fay Larrabee, of Scarborough, ME and also by several nieces & nephews & cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, her 3 sisters, her 2 brothers, and her grandson William W. Keyes.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday October 4, 2006 at 2 P.M. at the Bridport Central Cemetery with a reception following in the Bridport Congregational vestry hall.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bridport Central School, in care of the National Bank of Middlebury. Or to a charity of ones choice.
