Woodstock Jane A. Lucia, 91, passed away with family and friends by her side on March 21, 2015 at the Mertens House in Woodstock, Vermont. Born November 7, 1923 in Orwell, VT, Jane was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mabel (Underwood) McIntyre. She was a graduate of Brandon High School where she enjoyed playing basketball. Jane married Robert Lucia on July 2, 1941. She was of Methodist faith and enjoyed creating beautiful flower gardens, spending time with her family, and making memories at their camp on Lake Champlain. Jane is survived by her children, Linda Waryas and husband Stanley of Henrico, VA,Nancy Bishop and husband Reginald of Fairlee, VT, andTom Lucia and wife Julie of Spoffard, NH; by her brother George E. McIntyre and wife LaVerne of Jacksonville, VT; by her five grandchildren, David Waryas, Robbie Waryas, Lisa Markow and husband Chris, Teri LaRock and husband Greg, Penny Bishop and husband Marc Ducharme;by her nine great-grandchildren; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jane was pre-deceased by her husband Robert Lucia on May 25, 2001 and by her sister June E. Sabourin. Janes family is grateful for the wonderful and compassionate care of all the staff at Mertens House, where Jane resided for five years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 28, 2015 at 11 A.M. at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main Street, Middlebury, with the Rev. Jill Robinson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Middlebury Methodist Church at 47 North Pleasant Street, Middlbeury, Vt 05753.
