Obituary

PAID Middlebury, VT Jacqueline C. Ziegler Jacqueline C. Ziegler, 85, died early Saturday Morning November 29, 2008 at her home with her family by her side. Born February 14, 1923 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late John N. & Edna (Schlesinger) Stone. Formerly of Devon, PA, Jacqueline relocated to Vermont to be closer to her family in 2004. Jacqueline attended the Minneapolis Art Institute and the Boston Museum School. She was a well known artist, who illustrated dozens of children's books, and painted hundreds of water color and oil portraits and still lifes. Her art has been shown in Philadelphia, Washington D.C., New York, New York and recently at the Ilsley Library in Middlebury. She was a Supporter of the Southern Poverty Law Center, and for many years was the UNICEF Collection chair for Chester County in suburban Philadelphia. Jacqueline was a former dance teacher and an exhibition dancer for the Arthur Murray Show. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed searching for antique treasures, reading good mystery stories and spending time with her family. Jacqueline is survived by her son Larry Ziegler-Otero and his wife Wanda Otero-Ziegler, of Bridport, and her granddaughter, Rosa J. Ziegler, of Bridport. She was predeceased by her husband James F. Ziegler, who died in 1992 and by her brother, Lawrence S. Cooke. A Quaker memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12 at 4:00 PM at Havurah House. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Addison County Home Health & Hospice at P.O.
