Isabel Gloria Korth, 92, of Addison, Vermont passed away peacefully on January 15, 2024, with her family by her side.

Isabel was born on March 19, 1931 in Pico, Azores, Portugal to parents Maria de Gloria Garcia and Manuel Rodrigues Dias. She was married to Antonio Vargas Korth in 1951. Their first child, Maria Isabel, was born in June 23, 1952 in Faial.

The family immigrated from Faial, Azores in 1958 after the eruption of the Capelinhas volcano in 1957 to Beardmore, Ontario, Canada where their son, Wilson, was born in September 6, 1964. In 1968 the family immigrated to Woburn, Massachusetts and eventually settled in Cornwall Bridge, Connecticut to run a family dairy farm. In 1986 they moved to Addison, Vermont after they purchased their own dairy farm.

Isabel is survived by daughter, Mary K Rohwer and spouse Alan, son Wilson Korth and spouse Lisa, sister Beatriz Lacerda of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Grandchildren, Kyle, Alex, Susan, Andrew, David and great grandchildren Lourdes, Cole, Isabelle, and Eleanor. Isabel is predeceased by husband Antonio and siblings Manuel, Maria, and Ana.

Isabel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, dairy farmer and caregiver. She was the ultimate Portuguese hostess and got the most joy out of taking care of her family and her farm animals, especially her barn cats.

She was a devout Roman Catholic all her life and drew much comfort from her faith. Most of all she cherished her family, time spent with family, and taking care of them.

Calling hours are to be private.

All are welcome to attend a funeral mass for Isabel on January 23, 10:30 a.m. to be held at St. Peters Catholic Church, 85 S. Maple St., Vergennes, Vermont. Burial will take place privately in the spring. Arrangements by the Sanderson – Ducharme Funeral Home 117 South Main St. Middlebury, VT. 05753.
