Irene J. Meehan, 89, died early Thursday morning July 5, 2012 at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 25, 1922 in New York, New York the daughter of the late Thomas G. and Jane (Ryan) Meehan. Irene was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and also the Catholic Daughters. Irene was a Secretary for many years. Survivors are her sister Saraann Sally M. Foley and her husband James C. Foley, Sr. of Middlebury. Irene is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and by her many good friends and acquaintances residing in the Commons in Middlebury. She was predeceased by her husband James Bredin and also by her brother, Thomas G. Meehan Jr. and by her sisters, Jane Sawyer, Cecelia Harris and Theresa Anderson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 7, 2012 at approximately 1:30 P.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church. The Rev. William Beaudin will be the celebrant. Private burial will take place in St. Marys Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Marys Catholic School.
