Irene B. Denis, 93, of Weybridge died Thursday, October 24, 2019, at the ARCH Room @ Helen Porter Rehab, following a short illness. She was born in Middlebury on November 12, 1925, the daughter of Donald and Ethel (Matthews) Billings, and lived most of her life in Weybridge VT. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul E Denis. She is survived by their children and spouses, David and Dorothy Denis of Jonesborough TN, Michael and Cindy Denis of Weybridge VT, Phyllis and Robert Bowdish of Weybridge VT, Joyce Servidio of Marietta GA, Diane and Wayne Smith of Salisbury VT, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren. In addition to being a homemaker and dairy farmer, Irene was the Vermont District Court Clerk in Addison County for 20+ years. In retirement, she was a tour guide for Vermont Transit and an RSVP volunteer for 20+ years. She was active in the community participating in or supporting the Addison County Farm & Field Days, Vermont Tractor Pullers Association, Round Robin Thrift Shop, Middlebury Community Players & Town Hall Theatre, and many other organizations. The family would like to thank the staff at Porter Hospital, Helen Porter Rehab, ARCH Room, and Bayada Hospice for the wonderful care and support they provided to Irene and her family. Interment will be held at the St. Mary's Cemetery on Tuesday, November 12, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of her Life at the VFW, 530 Exchange St, Middlebury VT. At her request, there will be no calling hours.
