Howard A. Welch 90, died Thursday evening May 20, 2010 at his home in Bridport surrounded by his family. Born October 13, 1919 in New Haven the son of Aaron & Julia (Morton) Welch. He married Marion Stagg on February 4, 1941. Howard was a dairy farmer in Bridport for many years and was a Bridport Fireman for 11 years and Bus driver for Bridport for 41 years. He was also employed at Frontier Town in New York as a Stage Coach driver for 20 years. Survivors are his children, Robert Welch & his wife Judy, of Bristol, Harold Welch & his wife Virginia, of Bridport and Chester Welch & his wife Carol, of Westport, NY. By his daughter, Julia Nadeau & her husband Dick, of Bridport, by his 12 grandchildren, his 18 great-grandchildren and his 7 great great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Marion (Stagg) Welch who died in Sept. 2001, by his brothers, Robert, Walter and Earl Welch and by his sister Milly Perkins. Graveside Funeral services were held on Sunday May 23, 2010 at 3 P.M. in Weybridge Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Franklin Pastor of the Bridport Congregational Church Officiated.
