Middlebury, VT Helen A. Varno Helen A. Varno, 79, died Friday evening August 1, 2008 at Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury. Born June 23, 1929 in Middlebury VT the daughter of Harry & Mabel (Tatro) Varno. Helen attended local schools in Middlebury. Helen worked many years as a cashier for Stans IGA and Gregs meat Market; she was an avid bowler and loved to play bingo. Helen was a very loving person and was always willing to help anyone in need. Taking care of her son Butch was her life. She is survived by her son, Butch Varno, of Middlebury, her granddaughters, Darcy Turner, of Oak wood Georgia, Marlie Fredette, of East Middlebury, her grandson, Willis Varno, of Salisbury, by her three great-grandchildren, by a special niece Rita Brown, of Middlebury, by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her Parents, her son, Paul Yogi Varno who died April 16, 2006, by her sisters, Ruth & Betty Varno and by her brother Richard Varno. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday August 3, 2008 from 3-5 PM at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 4, 2008 at 10 AM at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home at 117 South Main Street Middlebury, VT .The Rev. William R. Beaudin will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Newhaven.
