Ocala, Florida /Vergennes Harold Cole Morcombe, age 84, passed away on October 7, 2015. He was born July 10, 1931 in Vergennes, VT. He was the son of the late John and Pearl (Cole) Morcombe. He is survived by his wife Barbara of Ocala FL and sister Patricia Pratt of Bridport, VT. Harold and first wife Josephine (now deceased) are survived by three children Harold W. and wife JoAnn of Sanford NC, Steve and wife Deb of Sun City West, AZ and Pearl Gale and husband Tony, of Rutland, VT. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Harold was employed for five years as Chief of Security for the former Simmonds Precision in Vergennes, VT. He worked as a police officer for Burlington VT Police Department for ten years and worked as security guard for Digital Equipment of South Burlington, VT for thirteen and one half years before he retired to Florida with his wife Jo. Calling hours will be held at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 So. Main St., Middlebury, VT from 10:00 -11:00 am, Thursday, October 15, 2015.followed by the Funeral service at 11 A.M., with the Rev. David Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes Arrangements under the direction of Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home.
