H. Kent Wright IV passed away on May 22, 2015 with his wife and family by his side at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT. Kent was born on April 18, 1954 the first child of H. Kent and Patricia (Payne)Wright III in Middlebury and grew up on the family homestead in Bridport, VT. Kent attended schools in Bridport and Middlebury, graduating from Middlebury Union High School in 1972. Kent worked at the Vermont Commercial Warehouse for several years retiring in 2013 due to his health. He also had previously worked in the law enforcement field as an Addison County Deputy Sheriff, Chittenden County Deputy Sheriff, Middlebury PD Special , Vergennes PD Officer and Deputy Game Warden. He was very active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles since joining in 1992, holding numerous offices at the local level and was very proud of being a past Vermont State Aerie President. He was also a past member of the American Legion. Kent is survived by his wife Pat Clark Wright whom he married 10/09/08, his parents, H. Kent & Pat Wright III, sisters Suzi Findley & husband Ron of Virginia, Cindy Myrick & husband Steve of Bridport, & brother Jerry Wright & wife Yvette of Shoreham. Also surviving is daughter Kelley Wright & spouse Ryan Polly of Williston, sons H. Kent Wright V &fiance Jessica Robair of Bristol and Billy Wright of Burlington, step son D.J. Tourangeau of Middlebury, 13 grandchildren and one grandchild on the way, mother in law Shirley Wilford of Burlington, and Julie Foote mother of his children. He also leaves many extended family and friends throughout Vermont and elsewhere. Visiting hours will be Tuesday May 26 from 4-7 pm at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 27th at 11am, at the funeral home, 117 S. Main St, Middlebury, VT The family request flowers be omitted and Memorial Contributions made to: Fraternal Order of Eagles, Diabetes Research Center, 1623 Gateway Circle South, Grove City, OH 43123.
