Obituary

George Ernest (Dutch) Seifert 91, of Orwell, VT died peacefully on February 20th. Born in North Guilford, CT on April 2, 1923, he was the son of the late George F. and Nellie (Thody) Seifert. He attended the North Guilford Schools. George married Marion E. Kelsey on April 14, 1956. George leaves his wife, Marion K. Seifert, of Orwell, a daughter, Martha E. Seifert of Orwell and two sons Clifton E. Seifert and his wife, Kim, of Middletown, CT and William G. Seifert and his wife (Cynthia) of Wallingford, CT. He also leaves two grandsons. He is survived by two sisters, Bertha S. Sievert of Meriden, CT and Evelyn S. Rossi of Durham, CT plus many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and four sisters Catherine Seifert, Mae Seifert, Ann Mahoney, and Lillian Sima. He was a dairy farmer, well driller and truck driver during his lifetime. He and his wife farmed in Middletown, CT on their Arbutusland Farm for over thirty years. He drilled wells for Sima Brothers of Southington, CT and Charles Sima of Higganum, CT. George also drove truck for Charles Wimler Construction Co. of Durham, CT. He was a member of the Connecticut Farm Bureau Association, Connecticut Holstein Association and Holstein USA. He enjoyed many trips to various states for the Holstein USA annual conventions. He was also a fan of watching Horse Drawing contests. A private funeral service will be held at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral, 117 South Main St., Middlebury, VT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
