FRANK BANNER
Middlebury- Frank J. Banner, 87 of Court St., died Monday, September 25, 2006 in Middlebury.
Born July 11, 1919 in Nashua, NH, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jadwiga (Kutsewicz) Banusevich.
Frank was a graduate of Nashua High School, Nashua, NH, class of 1937 and class of 1950 of Michigan State College. In 1939 he joined the Conservation Corps in NH and in 1940 he became a welder at Fall River Shipyard in Quincy and later at Boston Naval Shipyard. He served in the United States Army during WW II. Following graduation from college, he joined the US Forest Service and worked there in the Green Mountain Division until his retirement in 1973.
A resident of Middlebury since 1957, he was a communicant of St. Mary Church. In addition, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Forestry Club and the Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance Association.
Family members include two sons, Michael A. Banner and his wife Cathy of Agawam, MA, and Albert G. Banner of Middlebury; three daughters, Katherine E. Barter of Warwick, RI, Janet F. Banner of Waterville, VT, and Elizabeth A. Banner and her partner Kobie Cook of Fitchburg, MA; four grandchildren, Sharon L. Barter, Albert J. Banner, Edward M. Banner, and Daniel B. Cook; one great grandchild, Isabel Florence.
Mr. Banner was predeceased by his wife, Florence (Forbes)Banner who died October 12, 1992; and by three brothers, Anthony, Stanley and Joseph.
There will be no public calling hours.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Thursday at St. Mary Church, Middlebury with Rev. Justin Baker, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary Cemetery, Middlebury.
