MIDDLEBURY- Eva Wilcox Betourney, 96, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at her home with her family by her side at the Commons in Middlebury.
Born in Cornwall September 24, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Flora (Bull) Wilcox. She married Albert Joseph Betourney November 24, 1932.
Mrs. Betourney was a homemaker. In addition she had worked on the family farm in Leicester, the Brandon Training School and the Van Raalte Co.
Eva enjoyed quilting and made many quilts for her family and recently Ronald McDonald House.
In earlier years she served as a school director for the town of Leicester.
Surviving are her children, Marvel Herriman of Middlebury, Reginald Betourney and his wife Nancy of Salisbury, Shirley Shackett and her husband Leon Bucky of Leicester, Jeannette Gore and her husband Donald of Monroe, NC, and Ronald Betourney of East Hartford, CT; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Eva was predeceased by her husband Albert on November 20, 2002; her granddaughter, Sherry Shackett; her son-in-law, Arden Herriman; two sisters, Ruth Sharrow and Ada Moulton and four brothers, Seeley Wilcox, George Wilcox, Leo Wilcox and Philip Wilcox.
Calling hours will be Friday February 17, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 S. Main St., Middlebury.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday, February 18, 2012 at St. Marys Church, Middlebury with the Rev. William R. Beaudin, pastor, as celebrant. Spring burial will be at St. Genevieves Cemetery, Shoreham.
