Middlebury, VT Ethel M. Palmer
Mrs. Ethel M. Palmer, 81, formerly of Whiting died Thursday evening January 3, 2008 at Porter Medical Center.
She was born February 12, 1926 in Middlebury the daughter of Kent & Ada (Grey) Kirby.
Ethel was a life member of the Libanus Lodge Order of Eastern Star # 47 of Bristol, and a member the Whiting Cemetery Association.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, an avid reader and loved to crochet.
Ethel Married William G. Palmer at the East Middlebury Methodist Church in 1945.
She is survived by her three children, Alan Palmer & his wife Corrie, of Panton, Neal Palmer & his wife Suzanne, of Shoreham, Lois Deitz & her Husband Steven, of Brandon, by her eight grandchildren, Mark Palmer, of Griswold, CT, Bruce Palmer, of Colchester, Karen (Palmer) Robinson, of Essex Jct, Katie Trombley, of Whiting, Jessica Trombley, of Leicester, Brian Palmer, of Cary, N.C., Kyle Deitz and Levi Deitz both of Cambridge, NY, by her five great-grandchildren,also by her sister-in-law Betty Austin,of Proctor, and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband William G. Palmer who died January 7, 1988 also by her brother, Wayne Austin, and her sisters, Faith Smith, Helen Richardson and Jessie Dahlin.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday January 6, 2008 from 3 to 6 PM at Sanderson Funeral Service, Middlebury.
Funeral services will be held on Monday January 7, 2008 at 11 AM at the East Middlebury Methodist Church. The Rev Jill Robinson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Whiting Volunteer Fire Dept. at Stickney Rd, Whiting, Vt 05778, or to the Addison County Home Health & Hospice at P.O. Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753
