KIMBERLY LANE-GALIPEAU SHOREHAM-Ellen Kimberly Kim Lane-Galipeau, 56, died Monday, August 30, 2010 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare, Burlington. Born in Burlington December 20, 1953, she was the daughter of Frank G. and Elizabeth (Scott) Lane. Kim was a graduate of Middlebury Union High School, Class of 1971 and was the class valedictorian and was a member of the state field hockey championship team. . She earned her degree from Middlebury College majoring in psychology and English, class of 1975. Later she earned her nursing degree from the University of Vermont and continued her education at Duke University in Raleigh-Durham, NC. Her career included eight years at the Brandon Training School, a job she enjoyed immensely in caring for the many needs of its residents. She additionally worked at Porter Hospital in Middlebury and was a highly respected antique dealer. She owned and operated Lane Antiques in Middlebury for several years. Her abilities and interests were many including writing much poetry, gardening, canning and making various wines. She enjoyed experimenting with many projects and was listed in Whos Who In American Women. . Family members include her husband Bernard P. Galipeau of Shoreham, her mother, Elizabeth Bunny Templeton of Middlebury; a stepdaughter, Lisa A. Walasewicz of Weathersfield; one brother, W. Stewart Lane and his wife Christina and their daughters, Devon, Sierra, and Riley of Ferrisburg. Kim was predeceased by her father, her stepfather, Robert Templeton and by her sister Nancy S. Lane who died August 30, 1985. The family will receive friends from 9-11 AM Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 S. Main St., Middlebury. Graveside services will take place at 12 noon at Lakeview Cemetery, Shoreham.
